History
The area known as Holly Springs was originally a part of the Carl Ray Landscape and Nursery. In 1984, 77 acres of this tree farm were developed as a subdivision. The first residents began moving to their new homes in 1985. The name Holly Springs, was derived from the American Holly tree and the fresh water springs within the development.
One of these natural springs can be found near the gazebo. The streets in Holly Springs are named after the many trees that were grown on the property before it was developed.
